Original Painting by Carloyn Mohr
Recently I met Carolyn Mohr and I was delighted to discover a kindred soul! From an early age, Carolyn knew that creating art was indeed her purpose in life. She completed her basic formal artistic training at KwantlenCollege in Surrey, and graduated with a diploma in Fine Art in 2007. Carolyn also studied and enjoyed Stagecraft at Douglas College in 2007.
During the past year and one half, she has devoted herself full time to her professional development as a contemporary fine artist and believe me it really shows!
Carolyn Mohr’s Original Painting “Younger than the sun”
A particular rhythm and the lavish use of color brings drama and depth to each of Carolyn’s works of art. She is also interested in combining found objects and sculptural materials to achieve a physically tactile three dimensional quality on her surfaces. When viewing Carolyn’s paintings, we are deeply reminded of the rhythms of nature and our connection to these earth cycles. One cannot help but recognize the immediacy and confidence in all of Carolyn’s abstract expressionistic art works.
Carolyn Mohr’s group exhibitions include the Harrison Arts Festival, Maple Ridge Art in the Park, Arts Alive in Langley and in Davie Bay, Vancouver, the Artists Circle at Stanley Park, Art in the Park at the Royal City Farmers Market. Her 2011 plans include a collaborative exhibition with artist, Lana Hart in the new Arts Center in Newton, Surrey, B.C. for October 2011 and many future group outdoor exhibitions!
Her work has been widely purchased and she has devised a wonderful “Rent to Own” plan for as low as $20 per month for those who are on a budget! You can view Carolyn’s original art works and her prints on line at http://www.members.shaw.ca/carolynmohrart/index.htm
