Twitter Art Exhibit: Los Angeles is almost here! Please join us for an exhibition of handmade, postcard-sized art donated by hundreds of local and international artists to raise funds for
Art Division, a nonprofit which mentors underserved young adults in the Rampart district of Los Angeles in preparation for careers in the visual arts. Art Division provides classes, one-on-one mentoring and support, and a safe space for students to work and call home.
The
Call for Artists went out through
Twitter in October and the response has been absolutely overwhelming! By tracking the
#TwitterArtExhibit hashtag, participating artists, organizers, curators, the charity and the gallery have been seeding the event, giving feedback, networking, and showing support for one another. This installment of Twitter Art Exhibit (now taking place in Los Angeles) marks a new phase for the concept, which is due to open once yearly at different locations around the globe.
An opening reception will take place this Saturday, January 12, 7-10PM at
Exhale Unlimited Gallery on Chung King Road, in Chinatown’s Arts District.
Artwork will be available for purchase at $35 a piece (all are worth more) and 100% of proceeds benefit Art Division.Who knows… you may find work by a favorite local artist, fall in love with yet undiscovered talent, or even spot a few celebrity cameos!
This event is FREE to attend and open to the public.
